Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif arrived in Venezuela with the purpose of strengthening the bilateral cooperation between the Islamic Republic and the Bolivarian Republic in several areas.
The visit comes at a time when the two countries are developing ways to resist against inhumane US economic sanctions. In recent months, Iran has provided Venezuela with several ships loaded with millions of barrels of gasoline to ease the fuel shortages that have hit the Latin American nation due to the illegal economic measures applied by the White House.
Tehran has also sent tons of food to Venezuela in order to inaugurate the first Iranian supermarket in Venezuelan territory. Venezuelan officials have hailed the Iranian cooperation.
Experts believe that Zarif’s presence in Caracas proves the bilateral alliance is still strong despite US hostility.
Venezuelan citizens say the Iranian help has benefited their living conditions to a great extent.
The official visit by Iran's top diplomat is highly appreciated by Venezuela's government as reinforcement of the bilateral relations and common efforts to overcome the US blockade against the two countries.
