Jasper Philipsen has won Stage 15 of the Vuelta a Espana as Primoz Roglic retained the top spot in the general classification.
Belgium’s Philippsen hit the front with 150 meters to go, and held off Pascal Ackermann to claim the first grand tour stage victory of his career.
That’s while, heavy rain and dense fog towards the end of the stage saw the organizers neutralize the GC race, as the overall timings were taken with three kilometres to go, meaning there were no changes in the battle for the red jersey, with Roglic retaining his 39-second lead over Richard Carapaz.
Now, with three stages to go, the Vuelta goes on to a 162-kilometre hilly Stage 16 on Friday.
