UEFA Nations League: Croatia 1-2 France

Over football news in Europe, World Cup winners France have edged past Croatia 2-1 in Zagreb in the UEFA Nations League.

France got on the scoresheet as Antoine Griezmann scored the opener after 8 minutes of play. 20 minutes into the 2nd half, Nikola Vlasic netted the equalizer.

But, it took only 15 minutes for Kylian Mbappe to score the winner for the Blues as he struck the ball into the bottom right corner. France are now 2nd with 10 points, level with Portugal, who top the table due to goal difference. Meanwhile, Croatia are 3rd with only 3 points out of 4 matches.

Meanwhile, the Netherlands and hosts Italy finished with a 1-all draw in the UEFA Nations League. The home side enjoyed an early lead with a goal from Lorenzo Pellegrini, who beat Jasper Cillessen with a brilliant shot into the left-side of the net, just 16 minutes into the match.

Nine minutes later, Donny Fan de Beek scored the equalizer for the Netherlands as he got to the rebound inside the box and rifled the ball into the top right corner. Both teams had their attempts throughout the match, but the first 25 minutes was enough to set the result. Italy are 2nd with 6 points out of 4 matches, and the Netherlands are 3rd with 5 points.
