Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden is leading incumbent US President Donald Trump by a 16-point margin in a new national opinion poll for the 2020 presidential election.

A CNN survey released on Tuesday found the Democratic nominee leading the Republican incumbent by 16 points, his largest lead of the election cycle.

The survey conducted nationally after the first debate and mostly after the President's coronavirus infection was announced publicly showed Biden leads Trump, 57 to 41 percent.

The survey also found likely voters were supporting Biden by wide margins on several main issues including, the coronavirus pandemic, public healthcare,  Supreme Court nominations, racial inequality, and on crime and public safety.

The only issue that the two candidates were statistically tied on was the economy, with 50 percent voting Biden, versus 48 percent preferring Trump.

The 2020 US presidential election is scheduled for Tuesday, November 3, 2020.

With just four weeks left to Election Day, more than 3.8 million Americans have already voted.

Trump has come under sharp criticism for his response to the coronavirus pandemic.

He announced that his COVID-19 test was positive shortly after he claimed that the end of the pandemic was in sight.

The COVID-19 pandemic has killed more than 214,000 people in the US alone.

In the meantime, there has been growing concern regarding Trump committing voter fraud as he seeks reelection in November.

Vox website published an article explaining how Trump’s early accusations of vote-rigging and his efforts to sabotage mail voting could be preparatory measures on his part for his reelection.
