Republican President Donald Trump has rallied his supporters in the US state of Nevada to attract support while polls show his Democratic rival Joe Biden is ahead there.
Speaking to a crowd of thousands at an airport outside of Reno on Saturday, Trump went through a list of grievances about Democrats, the media, and mail-in voting.
He talked about staying in office 12 years although there are constitutional limits that prohibit US presidents from serving more than two, four-year terms.
"We are going to win four more years in the White House and then after that we’ll negotiate, right, because we’re probably, based on the way we were treated, we’re probably entitled to another four after that," he said.
The president again leveled accusations against Democrats for what he referred to as their efforts to "rig" the Nov. 3 election.
He also knocked Biden over an ad which criticized him for making derogatory remarks about US war dead. Trump has so far denied making such comments.
"Now I can be really vicious," in return, he said and expressed his disgust over the ad, calling Biden "pathetic."
Trump was speaking to his supporters who were standing close to one another and, in many cases, were not wearing masks in spite of the coronavirus pandemic.
Meanwhile, Biden has attacked Trump for his inability to lay out a national strategy to deal with the pandemic.
The president has been under harsh criticism for publicly playing down the infectious disease in the early months of 2020 and trying to rapidly re-open the economy after a lockdown in the spring.
"Nevadans don't need more bluster from the president, and don't need his reckless rallies that ignore the realities of COVID-19 and endanger public health," Biden said in a statement on Saturday.
"Nevada families need solutions — from containing the pandemic to building the economy back better to making quality health care more accessible to millions of Americans."
Trump has increased the number of his campaign rallies in recent weeks and has more campaign events scheduled in Nevada and Arizona during a three-day Western swing.
He will also visit California on Monday for a briefing about the wildfires that are ripping through the West Coast.
