To Basketball, the Toronto Raptors have sealed a spot in the Eastern Conference Semifinals by routing the Brooklyn Nets 150 to 122 to complete a 4-game sweep in the 1st round series.
It was a close contest from the onset, but the defending champions managed to earn a 77 to 68 advantage at the intermission. Toronto kept their rhythm after the break as they outscored Brooklyn 39 to 19 in the 3rd quarter to widen the gap to 29 points.
Then, the Nets managed to cut the deficit only a point after beating the Raptors in the final quarter. With the result, Toronto finished the 1st round playoffs 4-nothing and they will meet the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference Semis. Norman Powell was the star for the Raptors as he bagged 29 points, while Caris LeVert pocketed 35 for the Nets.
Meanwhile, the Celtics edged past the Philadelphia 76ers 110 to 106 to complete their first round sweep. The 6ers got the upper hand in the first half as they finished it with just a single point ahead.
However, the Celtics clawed their way back after the break as they beat the 6ers 32 to 19 in the 3rd quarter. The final frame went to Philadelphia, but it was all in vain and Boston cruised to the Eastern Conference Semis to play against the Raptors.
