This is Kabul, Bamyan highway, and we are on our way to Bamyan Province. The strategic Shibar pass connects Parwan to Bamyan. The first thing to do after arriving in Bamyan is to go some 75 kilometers northwest to a unique natural park and a top tourist destination called Band-e-Amir.

Band-e-Amir is Afghanistan’s first national park and it hosts thousands of visitors from across Afghanistan each year.

The 83,000 hectares of natural site is a complex of hills, beautiful mountains and natural lakes.

The amazing natural lakes attract every tourist’s attention, but most visitors prefer to spend more time in Band-e-Haybat .

Band-e-Haybat is the main lake in Band-e-Amir area in central Bamyan province. Thousands of people have come to this amazing site this year.

Given that no terrorist group is active in Band-e Amir, many people from across Afghanistan travel to this amazing site to enjoy and be happy.

Band-e-Amir has high capacities for improving Afghanistan’s tourism, but it seems that the Afghan government has not taken any serious steps for that matter. That is why many believe that the government needs to pay more attention to bring tourists to this site by providing more facilities.
