Latvia lures tourists with mirror house hanging over river
A small glasshouse hanging over the river Amata flowing through the Gauja National Park in Latvia is the latest attraction for Latvian tourists seeking a quiet place close to nature.
The mirror cabin, which resembles a greenhouse, hangs on cables and can move across the river by remote control.
The cabin can accommodate two people over the night with prices starting at 160 euro ($188). Guests can also pay an additional fee to receive breakfast or dinner sourced from local producers.
Despite the lack of modern amenities like shower or toilet, this unconventional accommodation is fully booked for the summer holiday season.
The coronavirus pandemic has boosted domestic tourism and many Latvians are shunning foreign resorts, opting for holidays in remote rural settings at home instead.
