Hezbollah’s secretary General has described Tuesday’s blast as an exceptional event in Lebanon’s modern history. He said a transparent investigation should be conducted into Beirut’s explosion and called for calm and unity among Lebanese people.

Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah gave a televised speech on Friday addressing the Lebanese nation over Tuesday’s deadly explosion. He said the incident was an exceptional event in Lebanon’s modern history that requires internal unity and calm. He called for a just and transparent investigation into the blast.

The leader of the Lebanese resistance movement also suggested that if some sides are arguing they can’t trust the government, then all security agencies can take part to assure credibility.

Nasrallah also told all Lebanese and Arab media outlets that fabricating lies to defame Hezbollah will be futile.

Observers believe media fabrications will continue despite the need for solidarity with the Lebanese nation.

Nasrallah noted that Hezbollah will use all its capacities to help the country tackle the consequences of the blast which he called a humanitarian catastrophe.

In light of the tragic events, Sayyed Nasrallah Said Hezbollah will put aside any political differences. The priority now is to remove the rubble, mourn the Martyrs, heal the wounded and uncover the fate of the missing people.
