Three of the worst hit countries in Europe when it comes to the Covid-19 outbreak are France, Italy and Spain, and all three are well known as mass producers of fruit, vegetables and various other produce that feeds the supermarkets, and eventually, the people of Europe.
Yet the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic has hit hard on the farmers and producers of goods in Europe, not only on their own health and wellbeing, but on their livelihoods, as fruit, vegetables and other goods are left rotting on trees as the lockdown conditions see thousands of regular fruit pickers, migrant workers and temporary workers no longer tending the fields, meaning people are now going hungry in Europe.
