A mourning ceremony was held in Gaza on Saturday for Iranian Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani, who was assassinated the day before in a US airstrike in the Iraqi capital Baghdad.

Mourners who attended the ceremony in Gaza city next to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, paid homage to the revered Iranian commander. They also condemned the US strike and extended their condolences to the Iranian government and people.

Lieutenant General Soleimani was known for his unwavering support for the resistance front against Israel and his commitment to the resistance cause.

Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani devoted his life to fighting for Palestine and the Palestinian people and his legacy will continue to live long after his martyrdom.

As they mourn General Soleimani, Palestinian resistance groups vow to follow in his footsteps until the liberation of Palestine and Jerusalem al-Quds.
