The United States lodged a complaint in 2004 over Airbus receiving subsidies from several EU countries. The World Trade Organization has ruled in favor of US imposing tariffs on the European Union. The EU has warned of tit-for-tat measures. It also argues that tariffs will go to American consumers. President Donald Trump has hailed the WTO ruling as a nice victory.
