In the 2019 Volleyball World Cup in Japan, Russia have rallied back from 2 sets down to snatch the victory from Canada in a 5 set thriller.
After 2 sets of play, which resulted in 25-23 and 25-16, both in favour of Canada, Russia took the game by the scruff of the neck to break the Canadians 25-17, and then edge them out 25-23 in the 4th set to send the match into a decider.
The Russians completed their comeback in the tie-break after brushing aside Canada 15-10 and moved up to 4th in the table with 5 points, leaving Canada with 1 point in 8th place. The tournament will continue on Friday with Russia taking on Australia, and Canada meeting Iran.
