Serbia have won the 2019 European Men’s Volleyball Championship after coming from a set down in the final to defeat Slovenia 3-1.

The Slovenians were first out of the blocks in the showpiece in Paris, taking the first set 25-19.

But that served as a wake-up call for Serbia, who fought back to claim the next two 25-16 and 15-18 respectively.

The Serbs were cruising and surged to a 25-20 win in the 4th set to wrap up the championship title for a 3rd time after 2001 and 2011.

The Bronze Medal went to Poland, who earlier defeated France in straight sets.

This was the first time the championship was hosted by 4 countries, namely Belgium, France, the Netherlands and Slovenia.

It may be worth mentioning that Serbia also won the European Women's Volleyball Championship this year.
