A number of Democratic presidential candidates have called for the impeachment of US Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh following a new report of sexual misconduct allegations against him.
The New York Times reported on Saturday night that Kavanaugh was engaged in a sexual misconduct at a party against a woman without her consent.
Senator Elizabeth Warren, Senator Kamala Harris, former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Julián Castro and former Congressman Beto O'Rourke have all called for Kavanaugh's impeachment.
Senator Bernie Sanders and Senator Amy Klobuchar called for further investigations. Sanders said an "appropriate constitutional mechanism (should be there) to hold him accountable."
Senator Warren said Kavanaugh “should be impeached” just like President Donald Trump who has denounced sexual misconduct allegations against the judge as a “con game” being played by the Democrats.
“Last year the Kavanaugh nomination was rammed through the Senate without a thorough examination of the allegations against him,” Warren tweeted.
“Confirmation is not exoneration, and these newest revelations are disturbing. Like the man who appointed him, Kavanaugh should be impeached,” she continued, referring to Trump.

Castro and O’Rourke both argued that the allegations confirm Kavanaugh lied under oath about not committing sexual assault.
Trump on Sunday said "Radical left Democrats" and the "LameStream Media" want to scare Kavanaugh into "turning Liberal."
"Now the Radical Left Democrats and their Partner, the LameStream Media, are after Brett Kavanaugh again, talking loudly of their favorite word, impeachment," he tweeted. "He is an innocent man who has been treated HORRIBLY. Such lies about him."
Trump also said "Brett Kavanaugh should start suing people for libel, or the Justice Department should come to his rescue."
Brett Kavanaugh should start suing people for libel, or the Justice Department should come to his rescue. The lies being told about him are unbelievable. False Accusations without recrimination. When does it stop? They are trying to influence his opinions. Can’t let that happen!

Kavanaugh has denied the previous sexual misconduct allegations against him, and he refused to answer questions about the new allegations to the New York Times on Saturday.
Kavanaugh previously stands accused of sexually assaulting Christine Blasey Ford during a violent encounter at a drunken party back in the 1980s. Kavanaugh and Ford testified in front of the Senate panel in September last year.
Kavanaugh also faced similar accusations from Deborah Ramirez, who charged the judge once exposed himself to her at a drunken dormitory party and forced her to touch his genitals in the 1983-84 academic school year when he was a freshman at Yale University.
