The situation in Syrias northwestern province of Idlib is getting precarious. The Syrian military, along with Russian forces, have resumed an offensive against foreign-sponsored Takfiri militants there. The decision came after Takfiris positioned in the de-escalation zone failed to honor the terms of a ceasefire deal and continued to target civilian neighborhoods. On August 1st, Syrian army agreed to ceasefire in the de-escalation zone in Idlib on condition that terrorists and militant groups withdraw forces and weaponry from a buffer zone. But the army says the terrorists violated the truce that was brokered last week during talks in Kazakhstan.
