Sudanese forces have stormed a protest camp in the countrys capital.
Many protesters have been killed are said to have been killed and over a hundred others injured.
The incident in central Khartoum is the worst violence Sudan has witnessed since April, when nationwide rallies led to the overthrow of longtime ruler Omar al-Bashir.
Social media footage shows scenes of chaos. Protesters are seen fleeing through the streets amid sustained sounds of gunfire. Foreign diplomats stationed in Khartoum say they heard the sounds of gunfire for more than an hour.
