Trump a selfish loutish oaf who thinks of his own interests: Analyst

Rodney Shakespeare speaking to Press TV

A senior political analyst from London says US President Donald Trump’s reported move to discard a planned meeting with UK Prime Minister Theresa May shows the degree of his selfishness and tactlessness and the fact that he only cares about his own political and business interests.

“President Trump is not a president. He is a selfish loutish oaf. He has no manners and he thinks he can shop his weight around and achieve his aims that way,” Rodney Shakespeare said in a Monday interview with Press TV.

Shakespeare said Trump’s endorsement of Conservative politician and main candidate to become next UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson is only meant to find a man in Downing Street that could help Washington in its policy of expanding trade and business relations with Britain.

“His aim is to ingratiate himself with Boris Johnson who he thinks will be the future prime minister so that Boris Johnson will sell the National Health Service to the Americans ... so that the Americans can sell their foul genetically modified agricultural products,” said Shakespeare.

He said, however, that the UK will certainly be harmed if Washington is allowed to increase its clout in UK’s health system.

“The cost per person of the American health service is exactly twice that of the UK. And when it comes to how long people live, people in the UK live longer than the Americans,” Shakespeare said.

The expert also warned that a trade deal between the UK and the US after Britain leaves the European Union will benefit the Americans more.

“If anybody in the UK thinks that the UK can get a fair, descent trade deal out of the Americans under Trump, they are badly mistaken,” he said.
