Arnaud Demare of France has sprinted to victory in stage 10 of the Giro d'Italia, clinching his first career success in the race.
The 27-year-old finished the 145 kilometer flat ride after 3 hours, 36 minutes and 7 seconds.
Italy's Elia Viviani was second fastest and Rudiger Selig took third place.
Pascal Ackermann of Germany, who has won two stages so far, crashed just inside the final kilometer and could not contest the sprint. That’s while, Valerio Conti once again maintained his overall lead atop the general classification standings.
