A new investigation by the United Nations has revealed dramatic details about the level of brutality committed by Myanmars military against the Rohingya Muslims.
The UN investigators interviewed hundreds of witnesses who confirmed indiscriminate shootings, executions, sexual violence, and the destruction of villages in Rakhine State since 2011.
This builds on preliminary findings which recommended that top military officials in the country be investigated and prosecuted for crimes against humanity and genocide. But the new report documents specific crimes and pinning blame for the atrocities on the highest levels of military.
