In Germany, anti-refugee protest gets out of hand

Several people were injured in Chemnitz in eastern Germany on Monday, as the second night of anti-migrant protests turned chaotic, after the fatal stabbing of a 35 year-old on early Sunday.

People were seen throwing bottles and other objects at police, while flares were burning in the crowd of right-wing protesters. Around one thousand far-right activists and a equally large group of counter-protesters have been marching through the city for the second day in a row.

The demonstrations were sparked by the killing of a 35 year-old man in a reported dispute in the early hours of Sunday morning, following a fight at a city festival. Two male suspects, aged 22 and 23 respectively, from Iraq and Syria, have since been arrested.
