The death toll in the southern Indian state of Kerala rose to more than 320 following the ‘worst floods in a century’, according to local officials on Friday.
As hundreds of troops continued to battle the flooding, trapped residents in Cochin City were seen being rescued by helicopters.
More than 200,000 people have reportedly been left homeless in temporary camps.
Trains have been halted and Kerala's main airport, Cochin International Airport, is expected to remain closed until at least August 26th.
