The Iran men's national sitting volleyball team has defeated Egypt to secure a spot in the semifinal round of the 2018 World ParaVolley Sitting Volleyball World Championships in the Netherlands.
The Iranian team, which had earlier defeated Russia 3-1 (25-15, 25-21, 22-25 and 25-20) at the end of its campaign at the preliminary round of the prestigious tournament on July 18, defeated Paralympic bronze medalist Egypt 3-1 (25-19, 25-22, 22-25 and 25-15) at a quarterfinal match played in the southern Dutch city of Eindhoven on Thursday evening.
The Iran men's national sitting volleyball team is scheduled to face Ukraine on Saturday evening.
Meanwhile, the Iran women's national sitting volleyball team overcame Japan 3-1 (21-25, 25-15, 25-12 and 25-17) in a 9th-10th placement game on Wednesday.
The 2018 World ParaVolley Sitting Volleyball World Championships began on July 15, and will finish on July 22, 2018.
