The Iran women’s national under-21 karate team has claimed the title at the conclusion of the 17th edition of Asian Karatedo Federation (AKF) Cadet, Junior & U-21 Championships.
Iran topped general classification, having scooped two gold medals through Fatemeh Khonakdar and Negin Altoni in the minus 53-kilogram ad over 59-kilogram weight categories respectively.
Mobina Haydari collected a silver medal in the minus 59-kilogram class, and Haditheh Jamali got a bronze in the individual kata division.
Moreover, Abolfazl Mirzaei and Navid Mohammadi bagged two silver medals for the Iran men’s national under-21 karate team in the minus 68-kilogram and over 76-kilogram weight classes.
Alireza Haydari and Alireza Faraji also received two bronzes in the minus 55-killogram and under 61-kilogram weight categories.
Earlier in the tournament, the Iran men’s national junior karate team clinched the title, and the women’s national junior karate team finished as vice champion.
The 17th edition of Asian Karatedo Federation (AKF) Cadet, Junior & U-21 Championships began on May 10, and concluded on May 13, 2018.
