Stephen Hawking dies

The world’s scientific community is mourning the death of one of the greatest scientific minds. Prominent British physicist Stephen Hawking has died at the age of seventy six. Famed for his work with black holes and relativity, Professor Hawking also wrote several popular science books including A Brief History of Time. At the age of 22, he was diagnosed with a rare motor neurone disease and was given two years to live. The illness left Hawking in a wheelchair and largely unable to speak except through a voice synthesizer. But he went on to study at Cambridge and became one of the most brilliant scientists since Albert Einstein.

Russia 'poisoning' drama

Tensions between London and Moscow are soaring to new highs. Britain announced that it had expelled 23 Russian diplomats and suspended diplomatic contacts with Moscow.  It said the move followed the failure by the Russian government to respond to Prime Minister Theresa May’s demand for an explanation over the death of a former spy and his daughter in Salisbury. May told the Parliament earlier that it was highly likely that Russia was behind the murder of Sergei Skripal and his daughter by using a military-grade nerve agent. But Moscow has denied involvement in the case and has accused Britain of pursuing a political agenda. Prime Minister May had given Russia until midnight to disclose details of using a chemical agent to kill Skripal and his daughter. She said Russia had responded with sarcasm, defiance and contempt.
