It’s been described as a positive step toward de-escalating tensions in the Korean Peninsula. North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has agreed to attend a summit with South Korean President Moon Jae-in next month. Pyongyang has also hinted at abandoning its nuclear weapons in exchange for security guarantees.
