Fate of JCPOA after possible US exit

Senior diplomats of France, Germany, the European Union, Iran, the United Kingdom and the United States, China and Russia announce the framework for a comprehensive agreement on the Iranian nuclear program.

Iran has said if it sees no benefit from the JCPOA because of US antagonist actions, it will leave the deal as well.

As one party to the deal, Iranians ought to be happy with the JCPOA, but that’s not really the case. They are witness to the fact that although it’s been two years since the ground-breaking deal was implemented, economic changes promised by politicians are still only words. Add to this the new allegations of the US President about Iran's missile program and his threats about withdrawing from deal. After two years of efforts, Iran has managed to open some Italian and French credit lines for its businessmen. However, no major banks have actually dared enter Iran, for fear of unpredictable behavior on the part of the US government.

When the JCPOA was signed, it seemed necessary to have an independent body evaluate Iran's practical commitment to the deal. This body was the UN's nuclear watchdog. And the 10th report coming from its chief is proof of Iran's complete compliance, as were the former 9 reports. The report from that agency, which is a UN body and the decided JCPOA supervisory body on Iran’s nuclear activity, shows that Iran has totally complied with inspectors and that there has not been a single report on violation by Iran. Critics believe Iranian negotiators made a mistake not to have insisted a powerful supervisory body check commitment on the part of other parties to the Iran deal. But the question is that what supervisory body can ensure the US's compliance with any deals; the country which has withdrawn from many treaties and deals such as Paris Climate agreement, Rome Treaty, the JCPOA and many others! Given that, Iran has threatened to resume its nuclear program even stronger than before if the JCPOA is rendered beneficial for it.
