Massive floods caused by heavy rain have swamped parts of the Australian state of Queensland, as swollen rivers inundate more than 200 homes.
Major roads have been cut off and schools closed in the towns of Ingham and Innisfail in northern Queensland, with emergency services receiving 100 requests for help early on Saturday morning, local media reported. The Bureau of Meteorology confirmed that conditions were easing, but a major flood warning remains in place for the Herbert River.
