The Russian military says it has offered foreign-backed militants in Syria’s Eastern Ghouta safe passage out of the area. The offer was made amid major gains of the Syrian army against terrorist groups in the volatile area. Government forces are now in control of over 40% of Eastern Ghouta. The army has been trying to dislodge terrorist groups from the area, which is located just ten kilometers from the Damascus city center.
