Turkish forces have pressed ahead with an offensive against US-backed Kurdish militants in Syria’s northern areas. This has fueled concerns about the likelihood of a military confrontation between the Turkish and US forces in the war-torn country. In an apparent warning to the US, Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Bekir Bozdag said those who support terrorists will "become a target in the battle".

And this has provoked an angry reaction from the country which has described it as a violation of international law. To the world, it appears that the least thing that America is interested in under the leadership of President Donald Trump is peace.
