Trump to remove the US from the Mideast?
US president continues baffling the international community by sending comments via the twitter. A day after the US was humiliatingly rebuffed at the UN General Assembly by world countries over its recognition of Jerusalem al-Quds as Israel’s capital, Trump tweeted: "At some point, and for the good of the country, I predict we will start working with the Democrats in a Bipartisan fashion. Infrastructure would be a perfect place to start. After having foolishly spent $7 trillion in the Middle East, it is time to start rebuilding our country!" Trump had warned before the UN vote that the US would punish recipients of foreign aid voting against the al-Quds move. It’s unclear if his tweet on the need to reconstruct the US infrastructure means he is going to withdraw aid for other countries and leave, most notably, the Middle East.
Daesh rise in Afghanistan
Russia says Daesh is expanding its influence in Afghanistan and that the terrorist group currently has 10,000 members in the war-torn country. That’s according to an official in the Russian foreign ministry. Zamir Kabulov also says many terrorists are now moving from Syria and Iraq to Afghanistan and they are bringing with themselves battle experience. He added: “Daesh’s goals are definitely to expand its influence outside of Afghanistan, which they use as a staging ground. This poses a significant security threat for Central Asia and southern parts of Russia.”
