Iranian female badminton player Soraya Aghaei Hajiagha has presented outstanding performances at the Yonex Sunrise Nepal International Series 2017, and managed to collect a silver medal at the international sporting event.
On Sunday, the 21-year-old Iranian shuttler lost her final match at the Dashrath National Stadium in the Nepalese capital city of Kathmandu to Deng Joy Xuan of Hong Kong, and finished second.
The Yonex Sunrise Nepal International Series 2017 opened on December 21, and wrapped up on December 24, 2017.
The championships consisted of five events: men’s singles, women’s singles, men's doubles, women’s doubles, and mixed doubles.
The champions in the men’s and women’s singles received US$ 600, while the runners-up and third-placing athletes pocketed US$ 304 and US$ 116 respectively.
While the champions in the men’s and women’s doubles in addition to mixed doubles bagged US$ 632, the shuttlers finishing in the second and third places overall got US$ 304 and US$ 112.
Top badminton players from various Asian countries, including Bangladesh, Bhutan, Hong Kong, India, the Islamic Republic of Iran, Jordan, the Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal and Vietnam, competed for pride and prestige in the tournament.
