The Iran men's national football team, domestically known as Team Melli, has maintained its position in the latest edition of the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) rankings, staying in the world’s 32nd spot.
According to the latest monthly rankings released by the world’s soccer governing body on Thursday, Team Melli accumulated 798 points and maintained its place as the best Asian soccer team.
Other Asian teams were Australia, which climbed one position to land in the 38th slot in the latest rankings with 747 points, followed by Japan and South Korea, which settled in the 57th and 60th spots respectively with 600 and 570 points.
Japan plunged two places in the global ranking of national soccer teams, while South Korea dropped one.
The Germany national football team, also known as Die Mannschaft, remains the top-ranked soccer team in the world, with 1,602 points.
Brazil garnered 1,483 points to win the second position, while third-place Portugal gained 1,358 points.
Argentina also maintained its place and stood fourth with 1,348 points.
