Refugees in Serbia's north brave winter to cross to EU
Dozens of refugees brave the winter freeze in north-eastern Serbia in Sid, sleeping rough in the brush and hoping to sneak across the border into Croatia and continue toward wealthier parts of Europe.
The people, mostly Afghans, avoid the relative comfort of regulated camps in Serbia because of the very long wait for a legal crossing to the other EU neighbor, Hungary, with a bleak outlook regarding their chance to be allowed further.
