The Iranian boys’ and girls’ tennis teams have ranked first at the U13 West Asian Tennis Tournament in Kish Island in the Persian Gulf, and been crowned the champions of the international event.
The Iranian squads stood atop the podium at the multi-purpose Olympic Complex on Tuesday.
Lebanon finished in the second place and took the silver medal. Syria ended in the third spot and pocketed the bronze medal.
The U13 West Asian Tennis Tournament kicked off on December 11, and lasted for eight days in separate sections for boys and girls.
The tournament attracted foreign tennis players from Afghanistan, Iraq, Lebanon and Syria.
Meshkat al-Zahra Safi, Fatemehsadat Zanjani, Dorsa Cheraghi and Mandegar Farzami represented the Islamic Republic of Iran in the girls’ division.
Ario Javadi, Younes Talavar, Artin Nazari, Saman Rezaeian and Amir Ali Qavam were Iran’s contestants in the boys’ section.
