Iranian para powerlifters have featured outstanding performances at the third edition of Asian Youth Para Games in the United Arab Emirates, and won the title with 10 medals, including five precious gold ones.
On the final day of para powerlifting competitions in Dubai on Wednesday, Mohammad Reza Rajabi took part in the 107-kilogram weight category.
He was awarded the goal medal with the best lift of 155 kilograms.
His compatriot, Abolfazl Shahabadi, lifted up 142 kilograms in the same division, and took the bronze medal.
Separately, Iranian contestant Moein Ahmadi cleared the bar at 148 kilograms in the over 107-kilogram weight division, and dominated the podium.
On December 11, Mohsen Bakhtiar bagged the gold in the 54-kilogram weight category.
Bakhtiar cleared the bar at 125 kilograms in his first attempt. He subsequently lifted 149 kilograms and 153 kilograms to claim the title.
Alireza Izadi, another representative from the Islamic Republic of Iran, also snatched the gold medal with a best lift of 132 kilograms.
The third edition of Asian Youth Para Games kicked off on December 8, and will finish on December 14, 2017.
