People in Japan’s Okinawa island have once again staged protests against the US military presence. The protesters said the presence of US troops is a preparation for military action. They called on US and Japanese leaders to stop tension in the region. Calls for US troop withdrawal have grown following the rape and murder of a Japanese woman by a former US marine.
