A political commentator believes the United States is seeking to use North Korea nuclear issue to justify its “imperialist aggression” against the country, adding that Washington has been the one who has been “continually attacking” Pyongyang.
“The United States is the one who is carrying out the provocations. The DPRK has made it very clear since the resumption of the nuclear weapons program that their only desire is to protect themselves from the aggressive acts of the United States and particularly its imperialist drive towards the country and others and more specifically to defend itself from any invasion by the United States which they have been threatened with for decades,” Jason Unruhe told Press TV in an interview on Thursday.
North Korea has been under a raft of crippling United Nations sanctions since 2006 over its nuclear tests as well as multiple rocket and missile launches.
Pyongyang has firmly defended its military program as a deterrent against the hostile policies of the US and its regional allies, including South Korea and Japan.
