Some 5,000 people attended an 'anti-Trump' rally held in the South Korean capital of Seoul on Saturday, to protest US President Donald Trump's rhetoric regarding North Korea, days ahead his visit to the country.

220 left-wing political groups, organisations, labour unions and student associations held the rally near the US embassy in the city.

The protesters held anti-Trump banners and signs, while chanting the slogan "No Trump, No War", however, scores of people also gathered in the city to voice their support for the President.

Trump is set to visit South Korea for two days as part of his trip to Asia. The first country on his itinerary is Japan on November 5th. He will also visit China, Vietnam and the Philippines.

The relations between the US and South Korea have been strained in the past few month, as the two nations take different approaches to the North Korea nuclear crisis.
