Syrian trade officials say the country’s sweets business is picking up again after slowdown caused by a multiple-year conflict.
The crown of Syria’s sweets business is ‘barazek’ that had vanished from shops due of the war. Their return to shops is seen as a sign that life is getting back to normalcy in the country.
Officials say exports of ‘barazek’ sweets are already on rise. Exports are made through Lebanon and thereon to overseas markets by plane. Businesses are hopeful to revive old markets in Canada, the US, Europe and the Persian Gulf.
