Iranian beach soccer player Mohammad Ahmadzadeh has been shortlisted for the title of the Best Beach Soccer Player of the Year, thanks to his remarkable displays of skills during the 2017 Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) Beach Soccer World Cup in the Bahamas.
Ahmadzadeh has to vie for the top honor with 50 other nominees from various world countries, namely Brazil, England, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Portugal, Russia, Tahiti, Ukraine, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the United States.
Iran's goalkeeper Peyman Hosseini Largani has also been nominated for the Best Beach Soccer Goalkeeper of the Year award.
Additionally, Mohammad Hossein Mirshamsi has been shortlisted for the Best Coach of the Year title.
Both the Best Player of the Year and Best Coach of the Year awards will be handed out at the Beach Soccer Stars Night in Dubai, the UAE, on November 4, based on votes by coaches and captains of all national teams.
The voting will also be used to decide the Best Goalkeeper of the Year and the Best 5 Stars.
The national Iranian men's beach soccer team put a highly commendable end to its campaign at the 2017 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in the Bahamas, and ranked third at the end of the high-status international event.
On the final day of the tournament at National Beach Soccer Arena of Malcolm Park in Nassau on May 7, the Iranian team defeated the Italian squad 5-3 in the third-place play-off.
In the title game, Brazil overwhelmed Tahiti 6-0 and finished as the champion.
