The Iranian men’s national 7-a-side football team has placed second at the 2017 IFCPF CP Football World Championships, and clinched the vice champion title at the conclusion of the international event for athletes with a physical disability.
On Saturday, the Iranian outfit lost to Ukraine 0-1 in the final match of the tournament at Stadium Juan Gilberto Funes in La Punta municipality, central Argentina.
Russia finished in third place, taking 2-0 win over Britain.
The 2017 IFCPF CP Football World Championships, which is the world championship for men's national 7-a-side association football teams, kicked off in Argentina on September 4 and will finish on September 24.
The 7-a-side football is a form of association football for athletes with cerebral palsy and other neurological disorders, namely stroke and traumatic brain injury. Matches consist of two 30-minute halves, with a 15-minute interval, and are played with modified FIFA rules.
