Cambodia anti-US stance

A row is in the making between Cambodia and the United States. Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen has called on Washington to pull out its Peace Corps from the country. Cambodian authorities accused the US agents of conspiring with the opposition in a bid to overthrow the government. Washington has called on its citizens in Cambodia to show caution. And that has prompted Hun Sen to put out this statement: “Are you prepared to invade Cambodia and that’s why you told Americans to be careful? It’s good if you pull out the Peace Corps.”

Paedophilia furore in Iceland

Iceland is rocked by a new political crisis. Anger over a convicted child molester's links to  the country's Prime Minister has triggered the collapse of Iceland 'a ruling coalition. This came after the four-lawmaker Bright Future party, and the Reform Party, which has eight legislators, said they were leaving the three-party coalition. The Bright Future Party blamed this on what it called a "serious breach of trust within the government" which had been in office  for nine months before collapsing. It said the prime minister should have informed the rest of the government that his father had written a letter vouching for the convict so he could apply for a “clean slate.” Under Iceland's law, convicted pedophiles can apply to have their record expunged.
