The Iran men’s national football team, domestically known as Team Melli, has added another friendly fixture to its preparations for the 2018 Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) World Cup, as it will take on Togo in a warm-up session in Russia later this month.
The match, which has been scheduled for September 29, is expected to give both national teams some final competitive testing before starting their World Cup campaigns.
On June 12, head coach of Iran's national football team Carlos Queiroz announced that his side will play Russia in a pre-World Cup friendly match on October 10.
The 64-year-old Portuguese made the remarks as Team Melli qualified for the 2018 World Cup in Moscow for the second time in a row.
