End of US support for anti-Assad militants in Syria

A senior US general has confirmed that Washington has ended a classified CIA program to arm anti-Assad militants in Syria. General Raymond Thomas, head of U.S. Special Operations Command, said the decision was made “based on assessment of the program.”
