Britain’s security agencies are facing serious questions about why at least one of the London Bridge attackers was known to them but was still able to launch a deadly attack on UK soil. Khuram Butt had been on the radar of the authorities but somehow slipped through the net to lead an attack - alongside Youssef Zaghba and Rachid Redouane- that killed seven people on Saturday and left scores more injured. The issue has become a major election talking point with just days before the polls open with Prime Minister Theresa May promising to toughen up terror laws.
