Rouhani extends gratitude to Iranian nation

• President Hassan Rouhani thanks the Iranian nation in a tweet. “Great Iranian nation! You are winner of elections. I humbly bow to you. I will remain loyal to my pledge to you.”

Congratulations begin to pour in

• Head of the Iraqi National Alliance Ammar al-Hakim also extended his “sincerest” congratulations to Rouhani. He expressed hope that during Rouhani’s second term in office, Baghdad-Tehran ties would further develop to serve the interests of the two countries and help regional peace.
• Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, the secretary general of the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah, felicitates Rouhani on his reelection.
• Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev has sent Rouhani a message, congratulating him on his reelection.
• Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi extends his "heartiest" congratulations to Rouhani on his reelection, saying his country remains committed to strengthening ties with Iran.

Final Results

• Aqa-Mirsalim and Hashemi-Taba secured 478, 215 and 215, 450 votes each.
• Rouhani won 57 percent (23, 549, 616) of the 41, 220,131 ballots cast, while Raeisi came second with 38.5 percent (15,786,449 votes), Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli announced.
• With almost all the ballots counted, Rouhani is declared as the winner of the 12th presidential election.

Second series of partial results

•  Iranian Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli is due to announce the final results at 2:00 p.m. Iran time (0930 GMT) on Saturday.
• Out of the total votes cast, 38,914,470 ballots were declared valid, with the voter turnout standing at over 70, according to unofficial results.
• Mostafa Aqa-Mirsalim and Mostafa Hashemi-Taba have received 455,211 and 210,597 votes respectively.
• The Interior Ministry updates the partial results, putting Rouhani in the lead with 22,797,468 out of the 40,076,729 votes cast, followed by Seyyed Ebrahim Raeisi, who has secured 15,452,194. The figures amount to 56.88 and 38.55 percent of the ballots.

First series of partial results
