Iran's warning to Saudi Arabia
Earlier this week, Iran issued strong warnings to Saudi Arabia to avoid any adventurism or face severe repercussions. Iran’s Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan in an interview warned the Saudis that any military action against Iran would lead to the destruction of almost all of the kingdom. Dehqan said the Saudis should not be fooled to believe that their air force is strong enough to threaten Iran. He said only the holy cities of Mecca and Medina would be spared should the Saudis – as he put it – perpetrate any act of stupidity against Iran.
Over the moon
The elections in South Korea have come to a long awaited conclusion with a victory for the liberal Moon Jae-in.The new President takes hold of power at a time where tension is high in Seoul, not only on a domestic front, but also on a regional and international arena too. The elections were called following the impeachment of the former President Park Geun-Hye, over allegations of corruption and money extortion, a claim she denies. Results place Moon around the 41% mark, with his nearest rival, Hong Joon-Pyo on 23%.
