A Moscow-based biomedical startup has developed a very functional and durable 3D-printed prosthesis, which can be put on children as young as 2.
Engineers say in this way a child will learn how to use a practical prosthesis from very early years.
They believe children who wear the colorful prostheses often find they attract positive attention and interaction from other kids.
The company uses 3D-printing because the technology makes component parts more resilient and quicker to manufacture.
Some models even have holders for special gadgets like video cameras and audio players.
