An airstrike by the US-led coalition purportedly fighting the Daesh Takfiri terrorist group has destroyed the water supply system in the northern Syrian city of Raqqah.
The so-called Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said on Friday that water supply was cut off in the city after the recent bombing of two bridges over the Euphrates River.
The SOHR added that an aircraft, most likely from the US-led coalition, destroyed the bridges on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Raqqah is Being Slaughtered Silently (RBSS), a group of citizen journalists documenting abuses in the Daesh stronghold, confirmed that the strikes had targeted local infrastructure.
The two bridges were the only ones that connected the northern part with the south of the city.
Since 2014, the United States, along with a number of its allies, has been leading a so-called anti-terror campaign in Syria and neighboring Iraq.
The US-led coalition says it is working with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), a coalition of armed groups led by the Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG), to try to defeat Daesh in the militant-riddled Syrian city. However, there have been numerous reports of US-led airstrikes targeting Syrian civilians, military and infrastructure.

This as the West, mainly the US, and the Persian Gulf monarchies of Saudi Arabia and Qatar have been widely accused of generously supporting the militants fighting against the Syrian government.
Syrian government forces plan to liberate Raqqah from the Daesh Takfiri terror group, which has named the northern city as its so-called headquarters in the Arab country.
Syria has been battling foreign-backed militancy for nearly six years. Over the past few months, the Syrian army has made significant gains against terrorists.
